What is Epididymitis?
Epididymis is a coiled tube that is present on the back of the testicle, inflammation of this tube is called epididymitis. The function of this tube is to store the sperm while they mature and move them from the testes to the vas deferens.
The primary cause of this inflammation is a bacterial infection such as sexually transmitted infections such as gonorrhea and Chlamydia. It can affect all age groups of men, but it is most common in males between 14-35 years of age. In some cases, the testes get inflamed, and this condition is known as epididymal-orchitis.
Symptoms of Epididymitis
Symptoms of epididymitis include pain and tenderness in the testicles, and swelling, redness, and warmth in the scrotum. Causation of Epididymitis
The main causes of epididymitis are:
